November Wrap-Up
Update…
My gosh, what a couple of weeks?! Is it just me or is anyone else getting fed up with the whole lockdown COVID situation?
Anyhooo
My partner and I have officially finished our Christmas shopping *does a little jiggle*!! I was super lucky this year, as Andrew and I are currently staying at his parents house, we (meaning I) managed to persuade his parents to let me put the Christmas decorations up!
This was the outcome!! (Is it bad that I am bouncing in my chair singing Christmas songs right now? Asking for a friend ….)
On a side note, I have been looking at the Kindle deals most days and I am literally trying my hardest to not allow my temptation to buy loads of books to kick in! 😦 Books like The Guest List by Lucy Foley, His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, A Cold Trail by Robert Dugoni and The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides are making this temptation hard!!
Christmas will be weird this year. Many others may have the same problem, but with the Tier system in the UK, Kent (where I live) in under Tier 3. Usually for Christmas, my whole family meets up on Christmas Eve to have games, spent time together, eat food, open presents and eat more food … Sadly, this year, this will not be the case. But I will be video calling them, so we can all still ‘see’ each other! Although, considering all this, I will be fortunate to be able to spend Christmas with Andrew and his family (as we all live in the same household).

My course with the Open University is starting to get interesting!! I am currently reading and analysing Hotel World by Ali Smith, and Undertones of War by Edmund Blunden! I am finding from that the narrative techniques and literacy devices that are being learnt in the course textbooks are easily recognisable within books that I am reading for pleasure.
After not being very organised last year (ooops) I have changed how I work and manage the study amount each week. I did this with smaller post it note tabs. WHO EVER INVENTED THESE ARE A GENIUS!! By having the different tabs, I am able to keep track on how much studying I should be doing each day to keep on top of the weeks’ study planner, and also I have used the same tabs in the course book for activities that are using the set book, if that makes sense?

Last month I found that ‘Goals’ wasn’t the right word for what I have planned for each month, so have changed this section to ‘Wrap-up for ….’.

I was pretty focused on University work this month, that I only managed to review one book!
The Twins was dark and twisted throughout, with a plot twist at the end which was well developed!
I liked how the characters were shown and developed throughout the novel, with the way J.S. Lark made some chapter exclusively for showing the readers some information from the past or in the present day from opposing character views.
